Technical Report MSR-TR-98-19 SHARP PHASE BOUNDARIES FOR A LATTICE FLUX LINE MODEL

چکیده
We consider a model of nonintersecting flux lines in a rectangular region on the lattice Zd, where each flux line is a non-isotropic self-avoiding random walk constrained to begin and end on the boundary of the region. The thermodynamic limit is reached through an increasing sequence of such regions. We prove the existence of several distinct phases for this model, corresponding to different regimes for the flux line density – a phase with zero density, a collection of phases with maximal density, and at least one intermediate phase. The locations of the boundaries of these phases are determined exactly for a wide range of parameters. Our results interpolate continuously between previous results on oriented and standard non-oriented self-avoiding random walks.

Technical Report MSR-TR-99-62 ANISOTROPIC SELF-AVOIDING WALKS
We consider a model of self-avoiding walks on the lattice Z with different weights for steps in each of the 2d lattice directions. We find that the directiondependent mass for the two-point function of this model has three phases: mass positive in all directions; mass identically −∞; and masses of different signs in different directions. The final possibility can only occur if the weights are a...

We consider bond percolation on the d-dimensional hypercubic lattice. Assuming the existence of a single critical exponent, the exponent ρ describing the decay rate of point-to-plane crossings at the critical point, we prove that hyperscaling holds whenever critical rectangle crossing probabilities are uniformly bounded away from 1.
متن کاملNature of the low-field transition in the mixed state of high-temperature superconductors
We have numerically studied the statics and dynamics of a model three-dimensional ~3D! vortex lattice at low magnetic fields. For the statics we use a frustrated 3D XY model on a stacked triangular lattice. We model the dynamics as a coupled network of overdamped resistively shunted Josephson junctions with Langevin noise. At low fields, there is a weakly first-order phase transition, at which ...

Abstract This study is applied Lattice Boltzmann Method to investigate the natural convection flow utilizing nanofluids in a concentric annulus. A numerical strategy presents for dealing with curved boundaries of second order accuracy for both velocity and temperature fields. The fluid between the cylinders is a water-based nanofluid containing different types of nanoparticles: copper (Cu), a...
